John Deere Equipment Decal Guidelines
Fall 2023
Effective immediately, John Deere has updated requirements for equipment decals that must be observed by all John Deere dealers. Failure to observe equipment decal requirements will result in corrective actions by John Deere Company, including but not limited to, fines imposed upon the dealership.
- Ask customers’ permission
- Single color/paint-matched background
- Two sizes: 5x2” and 6x6”
- 12” minimum spacing from JD decals
- 1 exterior decal and 1 service panel decal
2023 Equipment Decal Regulations
Ask Customers’ Permission
Before applying dealer decals to their purchase. If dealer decals are already installed, ask the customer if they would like the decals removed.
Equipment Decal Design
Dealer decals should be single color in design and background fill should be color-matched to equipment paint.
- Black-on-green decals for Ag & Turf Equipment
- White-on-black decals for Compact Construction Equipment
Equipment Decal Sizing
- Small Decal Regulation: 5”x 2”
- Actual Size: 5” x 1.8”
- Large Decal Regulation: 6” x 3”
- Actual Size 6” x 2.2”

Equipment Decal Spacing
Dealer decals must be spaced a minimum of 12” from all John Deere decals, including logos, model numbers, part numbers, and graphics/stripes.
DO NOT remove, relocate, clutter, or cover up manufacturer decals.

Service Panel Decals
Serves as a reminder of important contact information for customers, operators, and service technicians.
For safety concerns, avoid placement of decals on high-heat machine parts and components.
